Response to COVID-19

To everyone working hard to support the local community, from farmers to logistics providers and data centre managers to those maintaining essential infrastructure to keep us all going, thank you. 
Our focus on the safety, health and well-being of our people, our distributors, our customers and the communities they serve remains unchanged. The global Perkins team is here to help provide access to the services and support you need to get the job done safely and effectively.

 

The events surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic continue to evolve rapidly. Perkins focus on the safety, health and well-being of our team and the communities they serve remains unchanged. A number of governments around the world continue to classify operations such as ours as essential activity for critical infrastructure, as customers use our engines and parts to provide prime and stand-by power for hospitals, food stores and data centres; and move critical supplies to where they are needed most. Perkins and our global distribution network are working to ensure continued access to the services and support our customers need to get their jobs done.

We are taking appropriate precautions and implementing safeguards to protect our employees while they continue to provide these services. We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting facilities with special attention to common areas, we are following social distancing practices, and we are implementing other measures consistent with specific local authority requirements.

Looking ahead, we will continue to monitor the situation closely and remain focused on the health and safety of our teams. Our dedicated employees and distributors around the world will continue to do our best to serve our customers and the needs of local communities during this unprecedented time.

Keep your equipment running with online training from the people who built your engine

In this unprecedented time, our customers are continuing to do essential work to keep communities running, deliver fresh food to the shops and ensure the infrastructure is in place to help us stay connected.

To try and support you in return, we’re making 24 courses from our training curriculum available online, for free.

Once you’ve registered, the easy to use training platform enables you to quickly select and launch each course at the click of a button.

  • Training is web-based and mainly delivered through short engaging videos
  • Highly practical courses which depending on the topic are generally 5-10 minutes long
  • A wide variety of training is available including fuel filtration, oil filtration and electronic engine pre-test among others
  • Training covers the Perkins engine range from 400 to 4000 Series

Chinese distributor Lei Shing Hong Machinery donated four Perkins-powered generator sets to Wuhan’s new hospital

Shanghai based Perkins distributor Lei Shing Hong Machinery (LSH) was among the Chinese businesses who stepped in to support the rapid build of the new Huoshenshan Hospital in Wuhan in February. The 1,000-bed facility, which cared for people with the COVID-19 virus, was built in 10 days and took just another four days to become operational.
