The view ahead is clear
Dumpers are involved in nearly a third of all construction site transport accidents, largely due to operator visibility limitations. As a major supplier of dumpers and other construction equipment, Mecalac challenged its engineering team to innovate a solution.
The result is the Mecalac Revotruck, and the innovation is a unique revolving cab that lets operators keep their vision and focus on the job and view potential obstacles on the site. That, combined with an articulating chassis that keeps the Revotruck stable under a broad range of job site conditions, make material transport both safer and more efficient.
The Revotruck automatically adapts its behaviour to the actual cab position and adjusts speed, steering and driving direction accordingly. The vehicle can even switch steering between the front and rear wheels to allow the Revotruck to operate effectively in very tight spaces.
Such an innovative vehicle demands an equally innovative powerplant and Mecalac engineers decided early on that meant Perkins power. They worked closely with Perkins engineers to optimise the Perkins® 904J-E28TA they chose to power the Revotruck.
The compact, power-dense engine produces 55 kW (74 hp) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque and meets EU Stage V and U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards. Both performance and fuel consumption are optimised to match the Revotruck’s operating cycles. No additional fluids or additives are required which lowers operating costs and operator training while its 500 hour service interval and single-side service components make it easy to service with minimal downtime.
