That will leave a mark
Pavement marking includes a lot more than simply spraying paint. Machines built by WINTER Markiertechnik GmbH of Kellinghusen, Germany apply materials ranging from rolls of tape to thick, textured thermoplastics in addition to traditional paint products. WINTER also builds roadway dryers, demarking cutters, thermoplastic pre-heaters and bead spreaders plus hand-held, self-propelled and truck-mounted application systems.
One of WINTER’s most popular machines, the W 351, is a modular system consisting of a stand-alone operator station/power unit and a variety of different application modules that can be quickly mated with it. In its various configurations the W 351 can apply everything from paint to the thickest, textured thermoplastics.
WINTER powers the W 351 with a Perkins® 404J-E22TA, a 4-cylinder, 2.2 litre EU Stage V engine producing 55 kW (74 hp) and 279 Nm of torque at only 1600 rpm. The compact, power-dense engine features extremely low noise levels which can reduce operator fatigue while increasing permissible operating time in noise-sensitive areas.
"Easy maintenance, low fuel consumption and a maintenance-free aftertreatment system make the 400 Series engine particularly user-friendly for us,” said Lisa Parczanny, WINTER’s team leader, sales marking technology. “The engine fits harmoniously into the machine design of the W 351 series and is suitable for a wide range of application requirements.”
